A former chef who worked at the Brazilian football star Neymar da Silva's mansion has filed a lawsuit against the Santos star due to work-related stress that caused her health problems. According to the Brazilian website 'Metropolis', the woman worked at Neymar's main mansion, located in the Mangaratiba area of Rio de Janeiro state, from last July to February of this year. According to the lawsuit filed with the state's Regional Labor Court, the woman cooked for more than 150 people a day, working in harsh conditions for up to 16 hours a day and carrying heavy loads, which ultimately harmed her health, causing back problems and hip inflammation. The chef believes that the physical exertion from carrying meat and other heavy items in Neymar's house caused the mentioned health issues. She confirmed that she underwent medical consultations and examinations to diagnose her injuries. Under the contract, her base salary was 4,000 Brazilian reais (about $716), but the woman stated in court that her monthly income was around 7,500 reais (about $1,344) after including overtime and allowances. She stated that although she was contracted to work only on weekdays, she was forced to work on holidays, especially Sundays, and to work more than 16 hours a day. The chef claims that sometimes she had to extend her work until 11 p.m. and even after midnight on some occasions while preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the player and his friends. The lawsuit also states that 'the claimant did not regularly take work breaks, and throughout the entire period of employment, she was forced to clock in for them even though she was actually working during that time.' In total, the chef is demanding that Neymar pay 262,000 Brazilian reais (about $47,000), which includes severance pay, pension fund contributions, fines, payment for overtime and breaks, compensation for moral damages, as well as medical expenses and a pension. As of now, neither Neymar nor his inner circle has made any official comments on this matter.
